Packet Capture Assistance

Accurately capturing network packet traces can be trickier than you might think. It’s relatively simple to capture packets, but it’s critical that traces are collected in a controlled way, and that takes planning. Advance7 Performance and Stability Engineers (PSE) ensure the capture of high quality data through the use of a Diagnostic Capture Plan. A DCP is a step-by-step guide to the capture of the correct data for your problem.

DCP Assistance

Through the DCP Assistance service, an Advance7 PSE will:

  • Liaise with your team to gather the information needed for the DCP
  • Write the DCP and deal with matters arising
  • Conduct a conference call with your team to explain the DCP and answer questions

This provides your team with the guidance they need to capture accurate, high quality diagnostic data.

This work is all conducted remotely through emails, phone calls, conference calls and screen sharing.

On-site Assistance

This option provides on-site help and is ideal for a busy team. An experienced PSE will plan a visit to your offices to meet key players. He will then gather the information needed for a DCP. Initially on-site, and then back at our office, the PSE will write the DCP. If matters arise during the execution of the DCP, we’ll help you deal with them.

We assist your team right up to the point where they upload the data for analysis. This is a great way for your team to build a working relationship with the Advance7 PSE team.
